Baker-Polito Administration Awards $7 Million to Support Advanced Manufacturing Initiatives and Job Creation

Construction underway for 'TAP' photonics facility in Rochester
Rochester, NY (Sept. 21st, 2017) By Randy Gorbman: Federal, state and local officials came to Rochester Thursday to tout the progress being made at a photonics facility in the city. Congresswoman Louise Slaughter, Chamber of Commerce President (and AIM Photonics Leadership Council Chairman ) Bob Duffy, and various state officials put on their hard hats, and toured a couple of floors of a former Kodak building on Lake Avenue which will be the headquarters for what is called a TAP, or Testing, Assembly and Packaging facility.

Mentor and PhoeniX Software Offer New Integration to Speed Time to Tape-Out for Photonics Circuits

ROCHESTER, NY (May 25, 2017) - Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the AIM Photonics project in Rochester is in the final planning stages to begin construction this summer and tool installation this fall at the institute's Testing, Assembly and Packaging facility. In addition, the Empire State Development's Board of Directors approved an $81 million grant to be used to equip and operate the institute's TAP facility by AIM Photonics and its consortium of industry and university partners.

New York State Photonics Board Recommend Second Round of State Funding for AIM Photonics in Rochester

The board met at AIM Photonics’ newly selected Testing, Assembly and Packaging (TAP) facility.
