Federal Innovation Leaders to Share Perspectives Shaping the Future of Critical Technologies at AIM Photonics’ Annual Members Meeting

Plenary speakers Tracy Frost (top), Eric K. Lin (middle), and Anna Tauke-Pedretti (bottom) will highlight the importance of integrated photonics and its growing impact across critical technology sectors at AIM Photonics’ upcoming members meeting in Washington, D.C.

AIM Photonics is pleased to announce that Ms. Tracy Frost, SES, Director, Technology Innovation for the Industrial Base (TIIB), Office of the Undersecretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW (R&E)); Dr. Eric K. Lin, Acting Associate Director for Innovation and Industry Services for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); and Dr. Anna Tauke-Pedretti, Microsystems Technology Program Manager at DARPA, will serve as plenary speakers for the 2026 AIM Photonics Members Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Bringing together leaders from government, academia, and the defense industrial base, this year’s program will feature three separate plenary sessions highlighting the importance of integrated photonics and its growing impact across critical technology sectors.

With themes centered on AI-enabled photonics, quantum technologies, advanced packaging, heterogeneous integration, next-generation microelectronics, secure communications, resilient domestic manufacturing, breakthrough health and biosensing applications, this year’s program will span two dynamic days of thought leadership and innovation. Sessions will examine the convergence of photonics with artificial intelligence, emerging quantum systems, trusted supply chains, education workforce development, and national-scale initiatives designed to strengthen U.S. technology leadership and industrial competitiveness.

Through strategic discussions, technical sessions, and member engagement, attendees will explore how collaborative manufacturing is shaping the future of secure, scalable, and energy-efficient technologies. The meeting will also showcase the breadth of AIM Photonics member capabilities through networking opportunities, technology demonstrations, collaborative discussions, and updates on ongoing programs and strategic initiatives. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with peers across the ecosystem, identify partnership opportunities, and engage directly with leaders helping to define the future direction of the photonics and microelectronics landscape.

All current AIM Photonics members are invited and encouraged to join us at the Optica Global Headquarters in Washington, D.C., in June. ‍ ‍
